Costume Guidelines, Add-Ons & Accessories

Costumes help bring the magic of our Spring Concert to life! Please review the details below to ensure your dancer arrives fully prepared, polished, and performance-ready.

General Costume Guidelines for All Dancers

  • Arrive to the concert in full costume with garment bag and a cover-up on top. (Label garment bag & all costume pieces and shoes with your dancer’s name. No pullover hoodies, sweaters, etc.)

  • All leather ballet shoes must be sprayed prior to Dress Rehearsal Week. (Your dancer cannot perform if ballet shoes are unsprayed)

  • No underwear under tights or costumes.

  • No jewelry, nail polish, or gum.

  • Hair & stage makeup must follow NAOD’s required guidelines.

  • Bring extra tights, safety pins, hairpins, gel, brush/comb, and tissues.

concert Shoes & Tights Requirements (By dance Style)

SOAR & Enrichment Ballet, Jazz & Tap Classes

These costumes are included in the concert fee and will be provided.
Dancers must purchase the required shoes, tights, and undergarments listed below.

Ballet

SOAR 3–4, SOAR 4–5, Enrichment 5–7, Enrichment 7–10

  • Leather ballet shoes (must be sprayed to match tights using Brillo Camel #002)

  • Warm-Sand Footed Tights

Teen Enrichment (11+)

  • Canvas or leather ballet shoes (tan)

  • Warm-Sand Footed/Convertible Tights

  • Skin-tone leotard undergarment (clear straps)

Jazz

SOAR & Enrichment (Ages 3–10)

  • Tan jazz shoes

  • Warm-Sand Footed Tights

Teen Enrichment (11+)

  • Tan jazz shoes

  • Warm-Sand Convertible/Footed Tights

  • Skin-tone leotard undergarment (clear straps)

Tap

SOAR 3–4 & 4–5, Enrichment 5–7

  • Tan Tap Shoes (Bloch #S0350G BTAN)

  • Warm-Sand Footed Tights

Enrichment 7–10

  • Tan Mary Jane Tap Shoes

    • Bloch #S0352G/L BTAN or

    • Capezio Mary Jane #3800 Caramel

  • Warm-Sand Footed Tights

Hip Hop

Ages 5–7 & 7–10

  • Plain sneakers (black or white will be specified soon)

  • Black sports bra undergarment (if needed)
