Concert Hair & Makeup Guidelines
Important reminders for all dancers
To encourage uniformity and embody our concert standards, ALL hair & makeup guidelines are mandatory for ALL NAOD dancers.
Makeup helps facial expressions be seen under professional stage lighting. Always test makeup prior to concert week, to make sure your child doesn’t have any sensitivities or allergies to the products you’ll use on concert day.
Thank you NAOD families, for your participation in helping your dancer shine on stage!
mandatory guidelines
Hair Style: Natural hair-colored dancer’s bun, positioned at the crown of the head. Braided and/or natural bun variations are allowed.
No beads. Hair should be smooth and secure with no distracting flyaways.
For short hair: If your dancer’s hair cannot be placed into a bun, it should be neatly styled, and pinned away from the face.
Stage Makeup: Complementary makeup (eye shadow, blush, etc.) with red lipstick. All makeup and lipstick shades should complement your dancer’s natural complexion.
Makeup should be applied age-appropriately. Apply foundation and powders lightly to reduce shine.
Please avoid heavy glitter and extreme eye shadow colors that may distract from the costume uniformity.
