Synergy Ensemble

For the developing dancer ready to train, perform, and grow

The Synergy Ensemble is NAOD’s talent development program, designed for dancers who are ready to deepen their commitment to dance while maintaining a balanced training schedule.

Serving as a bridge between our Enrichment Program and the Young Artists Academy (YAA), Synergy provides dancers with expanded training, performance opportunities, and mentorship in a supportive and structured environment.

Through weekly classes, rehearsals, and select performance experiences, dancers develop stronger technique, artistry, and confidence while preparing for potential advancement into the Young Artists Academy.

Program Overview

Dancers in the Synergy Ensemble participate in a structured training and performance experience designed to support growth while maintaining balance.

Students in the program:

• Train in ballet, jazz, and tap or contemporary through weekly classes
• May be invited to audition for placement in select YAA-level training classes based on readiness and faculty recommendation
• Participate in two competitions per season
• Attend one dance convention per season
• Perform in NAOD productions including the Holiday Production, Spring Concert, and Ensemble Showcase
• Have the opportunity to attend additional guest artist workshops throughout the season
• May participate in community performances alongside YAA dancers
• Develop strong teamwork, discipline, and performance skills

Training Commitment

Synergy dancers typically train approximately 3 hours per week, including required classes and a weekly rehearsal.

Synergy I & II Required Classes: Ballet, Jazz, Tap | Electives: Hip Hop & Acro
Synergy III Required Classes: Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary | Electives: Hip Hop, Acro, Tap

All Synergy dancers are also required to attend the NAOD Elevate Summer Intensive, which serves as the official start of the season and provides focused training with NAOD faculty and guest artists.

The Synergy Ensemble is designed for dancers who:

• Demonstrate potential, dedication, and a strong work ethic
• Are ready to increase their training commitment beyond recreational classes
• Enjoy performing and working as part of a team
• Are interested in exploring more focused dance training

Synergy is ideal for dancers who love performing and are ready to take the next step in their training journey.

Auditions & Placement

Placement in the Synergy Ensemble is determined through audition or faculty invitation.

Dancers are selected based on:

• Technical potential
• Work ethic and commitment
• Readiness for increased training and performance opportunities
